Doctor Consultation

Regular Hours:

  • By appointment only
  • Monday through Friday: 8:30am - 5:00pm

Saturday:

By appointment only; you must call in to schedule. This is NOT a “drop in” clinic. Phones open at 8:00am.

Urgent and/or illness appointments only: 8:30am until 12:00pm.

We try to not see newborn babies on Saturday due to limited staffing and we do not want to expose newborns to any illness.

Morning Drop in Hours: We do not offer drop-in appointments. Please call to schedule.

Same Day Appointments:

Ballard Pediatric Clinic is NOT a walk-in or urgent care clinic. Please call to schedule appointments. We have triage nurses here daily that can help you decide appropriate appointment scheduling. We do save some day appointments for illness or injury. If you are able to schedule a same day appointment you may have a slight wait in the office especially at the end of the day.

More About Telephone Access

We welcome your questions and are here to help you in your important task of raising a happy healthy child.

During regular clinic hours there is a nurse available by phone to help you with your questions and concerns. Our nurses have your child's medical record available for documentation as well as accurate information on his/her medical history. They are best able to make recommendations in keeping with the medical advice of your child's physician. You may find the answers to some of your questions in the Health Information section of this website.

Our nurses are very knowledgeable about many aspects of caring for children, including nutrition, minor illness care and common growth and development issues. They can also help you if you are unsure whether your child needs an appointment. We receive many calls each day, some in clusters.

Phones are especially busy Monday and Friday mornings. We also have non-urgent messaging available through our patient portal. If a nurse is not available to take your call directly, your call will be placed into the voice-mail system where you can leave a brief message regarding your concerns. Please spell your child's first and last name, their age, usual physician and your name and number, preferably one which accepts "blocked" calls. A nurse will return your call within 1 or 2 hours—usually much sooner. PLEASE LET THE RECEPTIONIST KNOW RIGHT AWAY IF YOUR CALL IS AN EMERGENCY.

Effective September 2022 - After hours nurse phone calls between 5:00pm and 8:30am are subject to a $15.00 charge that is not billed to your insurance.
